Story Scouts is a passion-based reading program for kids. Our goal is to increase literacy by making reading fun! We approach books and reading with curiosity and joy. We aim to get good books into kids' hands and provide a relaxed, safe environment where students can explore and discuss books, while still being guided by a scholastic structure. Book Clubs and camps are held at Wildflower School in Chapel Hill.
During our Book Clubs, we will read three books over six weeks, discuss their content, go over reading lessons in topics such as phonics and fluency, have independent reading time, and do crafts and activities based around the book. We also offer 1-Book Bootcamps, 1-on-1 tutoring, and at-home learning kits.
We take a holistic approach to education, focusing on academic achievement as well as personal growth and reading development. We work closely with students to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in school and in life. Story Scouts is perfect for any child, whether they're already passionate about reading or need a bit of encouragement.
Enrollment in a six-week Book Club includes a free 15-minute reading assessment.
